BRUCE PRYOR

JERSEYVILLE - Bruce Allen Pryor, 65, passed away at 5:51 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born on July 25, 1960 in Alton, Illinois, to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Coalson) Pryor. Bruce built a life rooted in family, hard work, and adventure, always with a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day worthwhile.

On January 5, 1980, he married the former Dorothy Aline Goskie in South Roxana. Together, they shared in the many ups and downs of life, raised two children they were immensely proud of, and created countless memories across their decades together, before her passing on May 31, 2022.

Bruce dedicated his career as a Supervisor at Olin Brass, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, leadership, and loyalty. Outside of work, however, is where his greatest joy was found. He loved to travel across the country to cheer on his grandchildren in their many events, rarely missing a chance to be there on the sidelines, full of pride. He was happiest when surrounded by family, his loyal dog at his side, or in the middle of an adventure - whether that meant a day on the golf course, a long-awaited fishing trip, hunting season, or four-wheeling riding. Bruce also had a soft spot for a good meal out, never needing much of a reason to gather and enjoy time together over food and conversation.

Surviving are his two children and their spouses, Kendra and James Davis of Jerseyville, and Jason and Samantha Pryor of Belleville; six beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Erica, and Ellie Davis, all of Jerseyville, and Gabriel and Logan Pryor of Belleville. 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2025 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

In honor of his love for animals, memorials may be given to the Riverbend Humane Society.
