Alice (Wagenblast) Muscarella

ALICE MUSCARELLA

JERSEYVILLE - Alice Muscarella, 93, passed away at 1:55 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, at Jerseyville Manor.

She was born on February 20, 1932, in Medora, Illinois, the daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred (Goode) Wagenblast.

A devoted caregiver by nature and profession, Alice dedicated many years of her life working as a nurse at Jersey Community Hospital. Her gentle heart, strong spirit, and steadfast compassion left an impact on countless lives throughout her career.

Alice found joy in traveling when she was able, but her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she especially cherished every moment with her grandchildren.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Samantha Thornton of Jerseyville, Emalie Thornton of Daytona, Florida, and Harry Kirk, Jr. of Jacksonville; five great-grandchildren, Parker Turner, Damon Kirk, Layne Bell, Rainey Bell, Jessica Kirk-Gregory, and Brittany Bell; a sister, Norma Moore of Fidelity; and a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Marilyn Wagenblast.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maria Thornton; a step-daughter, Margaret Farris; two grandsons, Michael Kirk and James “Jimmy” Kirk; a great-great-grandson, Christian Kirk; and a brother-in-law, Keith Moore.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
