ROY EVANS
CARROLLTON - Roy Lewis Evans, 54, died unexpectedly at 1:34 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the emergency room at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City from injuries sustained at work.
He was born in Clinton, Kentucky on February 28, 1964, he was the son of Jimmie and Joyce (Jackson) Evans Sr.
He has been employed for the last fifteen years as a laborer with American Steel in Granite City.
On July 16, 2004 he married Vicki Lynn Kallal, of Kane, at their home in Carrollton, and together, they have been blessed with 14 happy years together.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki Evans of Carrollton; their four children and spouses, Mandi and Jesus Castrejon of Thornton, Il., Jacob Longley of Kane, Amanda and Kevin Triebes of Jerseyville, and Travis Evans at home; three grandchildren, Emma, Skarlit, Rayden; his two Mom's, Joyce Gardner of Clinton, Ky., and Mary Lou Evans of Crestwood, Il.; four brothers, Jimmie Evans Jr., Tommy Evans, Tommy Springer and Jamie Evans; five sisters, Mary Ruth Pummer, Becky Caldwell, Kim Davern, Michelle Springer, and Gina Workman.
He is also survived by his father in-law and mother in-law, Sam and Pat Kallal of Kane; and three brothers and sisters in-law, Sam and Lisa Kallal of Keyport, Washington, Dale and Tracy Kallal of Ave Maria, Florida, and Kenny Kallal and Anne Clough of Carrollton; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Evans Sr. and his step father, Jerry Gardner.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The family request that casual dress be worn at both services, as would be Roy's wish.
He will be laid to rest in the Kane Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to assist with his youngest son, Travis in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
