ROB ZIMMERMAN

CANTON – Robert Edward “Rob” Zimmerman Jr., formerly of Grafton, died unexpectedly at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2019 in Canton, IL.

He was born on October 29, 1980 in Hammond, LA to Robert Edward Zimmerman Sr. and Renee (Wedding) Zimmerman. Rob grew up in Grafton and attended Jersey Community High School.

He worked in various career fields throughout the country, primarily in the hospitality industry.

Rob enjoyed history and watching documentaries; playing Frisbee Golf; listening to music. He was an exceptionally good cook and a proud father to his son, Benjamin.

Surviving are his mother, Renee (Wedding) Zimmerman of Grafton; a son, Benjamin Zimmerman of Grafton; a sister and brother in-law, Billie and Gary Rowling of Grafton; a niece, Ciara Young; two nephews, Gage Wendle and Jayden Beemer; his grandmothers, Owretha Zimmerman of Grafton and Doris Wedding of Dow; his fiance, Patricia “Trish” Hardesty and her children, Madi and Clayton, of Canton; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Zimmerman Sr. on April 4, 1993; a sister, Heather (Johnson) Wendle on October 22, 2000; his grandfathers, Howard Zimmerman and William Wedding; an aunt, Susan Vitt; an uncle, Alan Zimmerman; as well as a cousin,  Mathew Todd Wedding on May 17, 2015.  

Private graveside services will be held at the Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton, where he will be laid to rest with his father.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to for an education fund to be established for his son, in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
