HAZEL ROSE
JERSEYVILLE -   Hazel Irene Rose, 89, died at 5:55 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born in Casey, Il on Sept. 25, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Omer Orry and Helen Iola(Mitchell) Lowe.
She graduated from Mattoon High School, and was a talented individual who could make beautiful keepsakes with her painting skills and various crafts.  She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville, and for many years, she and her husband, Robert enjoyed and were grateful for the many years of travel they experienced.
She married Robert Donald Rose on April 28, 1972 in Jerseyville, and together they were blessed with 43 years of marriage before his death on Oct. 14, 2015.
Surviving are a daughter and son in-law, Leslee and John Zell of Morton; a son and daughter in-law, Ray and Jodi McSchooler of Arcadia, Fl.; a daughter in-law, Wendy Rose of Cedar Hill, Mo.; eight grandchildren, one of which is Jeff Berry of Nixa, Mo, whom she helped raise after the death of her daughter,
seven great grandchildren; and a brother and sister in-law, Daniel and Wanda Lowe of Arcadia, Fl.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen (McSchooler) Berry on March 19, 1977; a step-son, Donald Rose; and a brother, Charles F. Lowe.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.
Burial will take place in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.
