Donna Tosh Obituary

DONNA TOSH

NUTWOOD - Donna Louise (Robinson) Tosh, 74, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital in St Louis, MO.

She was born in Alton, IL on May 16, 1944, to the late Robert F. and Marion E. (Yotter) Robinson Sr.

She married Kenneth James Tosh on December 14, 1984 in Jerseyville and together they shared in nearly 32 years of marriage before his death on November 4, 2016.

Donna grew up in Wood River and resided in Alton for many years of her adult life, later moving with her family to the Nutwood area. She also spent a period of time away from the area in Texas and Florida before relocating back to Illinois, eventually settling back in Nutwood where she has remained.

Professionally, Donna began her working career at Owens-Illinois Glass Works as well as the Olin Corporation. While living away from the area she worked various occupations from bartending to construction to an over the road truck driver. Upon returning to the area, she worked for a period of time for in home healthcare, and ultimately retired as a Security Guard at the former Ford Motor plant.

In her spare time, Donna enjoyed making her own flower arrangements and spending time in her garden. She was a woman with a heart of gold, and enjoyed making sure that everyone and everything were taken care of - whether it was her family, friends, a total stranger or even an animal - if there was something within her power that she could do to help, you could count on the fact that she would do it.

Another quality that Donna possessed, that everyone was fully aware of, was that she was a no nonsense kind of woman. No matter the topic at hand, she was the expert and always had an answer, not dared to be argued with. For those that knew and loved her, these are the things that will be most remembered and missed about Donna - her big heart, her quick wit and her smile and laughter that could change the mood in any situation.

Surviving are a son and daughter in-law, Jon and Elizabeth "Liz" Richards of Fieldon; two daughters and a son in-law, Christine (Williams) Breshers of Hartford and Sherry (Tosh) and Michael Wright of Illiopolis; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Trobaugh; Donna Williams; Keith Bell; Michael Richards; Abbigail Richards and Haley Holmes; six great-grandchildren, Summer, Austin, Dakota, Praize, Draven and Sydney; two brothers, Robert Robinson Jr. of Fieldon; William "Bill" Robinson of Florida; as well as two sisters and a brother in-law, Nancy and Gary Link and Mary "DeeDee" Plunkett, all of Fieldon.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brett Holmes; her step-father, Charles Bartholomew; two brothers, John Robinson, in infancy, and Stephen "Pat" Robinson; a brother in-law, Robin Plunkett and a two sisters in-law, Judy and Deborah Robinson.

Per wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and no funeral services will be held.
