CHAREE ZAMBITO
GODFREY - Geolen Charee Zambito, 69, entered into the loving arms of her savior at 7:14 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 at her residence.
She was born in Memphis, TN on December 13, 1949, one of four daughters born to the late Chauncey Garrett and Catherine Edith (Millender) Seay.
Charee grew up in Memphis, along with her siblings, relocating to the Alton area following her marriage.
Locally, she was employed at Alton Box Board, Jefferson Smurfitt and Smurfitt Stone Container Corporation, where she retired in 2010 after 27 years of service as an Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
She married William Zambito on February 22, 1992 in Memphis, TN and together they made their home in Dow for many years prior to moving to Godfrey, where they have resided for the past seven years.
Charee was an active and faithful member of the Dow Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed both Sunday School and Youth Group in her younger years.
Surviving are her husband of 27 years, William Zambito of Godfrey; a son and daughter in-law, Giles B. and Melinda Clowers and her two grandchildren, Zachary and Abigail Clowers, all of Bethalto; two sisters and brothers in-law, Catherine Edith and Steve Hardy of Gulf Breeze, FL and Bertie Charett and Ed Bragg of Olive Branch, MS; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Cherry Seay.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Dow Southern Baptist Church with Rev. David Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at the Newbern Cemetery in Dow.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the Dow Southern Baptist Church in care of Crawford Funeral Home, who has been entrusted with arrangements.
