CARMEN McCOY

GRAFTON -  Carmen Louise (Hillis) McCoy, 57, died suddenly at 11:45 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2019 at her residence.

She was born in Carrollton, Illinois on September 10, 1961, and was the daughter of the late Billie and Leona Yvonne (Taylor) Hillis.

Carmen loved spending time with family and friends, as well as gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a big fan of drag racing and was a dedicated volunteer for the Rosedale Fire Department.

She married Tony Curtis McCoy on July 19, 1991 in Grafton, and together they have been blessed with 27 years of marriage.

Surviving are her husband, Tony McCoy of Grafton; a son and daughter in-law, Romie and Veronica Womack of Brussels; a daughter and her fiance' Rainey Womack and Dan Gernigin of White Hall; six grandchildren, Austyn Womack, Sam Bazzell, Megan Colp, Lindsay Newby, Carter Womack and Chloe Newby; five sisters, Janis Taulman of Jerseyville, Julia Lass of Center, Mo., Lori Castleberry Deskovich of Pennsylvania, Crystal Hillis of Jerseyville, and Dina Eminizer of Pennsylvania; and two brothers, James Hillis of Panama City Beach, Florida and Anthony Hillis of Kane.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Royal and Helen Hillis and Raymond and Lena Taylor; as well as her father in-law and mother in-law, Leroy and Glenna Belle McCoy.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Grafton American Legion.

Memorials may be made to her family, in care of Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, who is handling the arrangements.
