Barbara I. Felts, 76, died peacefully Thursday morning, May 16, 2019, at her residence after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born in Carrollton on November 24, 1942, one of two children born to Harold Lewis and Ellen M. (Abbott) Holmes.
After graduating in 1960 from Carrollton Community High School, she moved to Chicago where she first began working as a nanny, and later spent many years in the banking industry.
She relocated back to Carrollton in 1980, and on July 25, 1982, it was there that she married James Felts. The two have been blessed with many happy times and special memories during their nearly 37 year marriage.
Surviving are her husband, James Felts of Carrollton; a sister in-law, Mary Holmes of Carrollton; two nieces and their spouses, Kelli and Steve Angel and Kollette and Mark Shade all of Carrollton; along with six great nieces and nephews; and three great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her only brother, Harold E. Holmes.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m., until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev. Larry Hayes will officiate.
Burial will take place in the Kane Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the First Assembly of God in Jerseyville or to the Greene County office of BJC Hospice.
